- Encourage activities geared towards developing fine and gross motor skills
- Nurture the emotional, social and mental growth
Caregivers are trained to be attentive and loving with your baby. They use visual and vocal contact in their interactions with the children. The staff utilizes planned and spontaneous play activities throughout the day to reach the goals for the infant program. Caregivers allow each child to maintain their own unique schedules for eating, napping and playing. We know your decision of choosing care for your infant can be difficult. We, at Learning and Sharing, would like to make this decision easier for you. Please feel free to ask questions and visit with our staff at your convenience.
Each child in the inchworm room is on their own individual schedule. We ask your help in preparing this schedule for your child by providing us with the following information. We need to know when they like to eat and how much your child can consume at a time. We also ask for your child’s sleeping pattern. As per the State Regulation, each child must be put on their back to sleep to start out.
So that we may fully attend to your child’s daily needs, we ask that you provide the following items: Diapers, wipes, 2 crib sheets, 2 light weight blankets, 2 extra sets of clothing and bibs. We will also need creams that you may use on your child with written permission for us to apply the cream. Your child’s formula already prepared in bottles and 1 week worth of food. Note, if you are bringing in breast milk please have it in bottles and set in a container with a lid.
We also ask that you please mark everything with your child’s name or initials. This helps us in recognizing your child’s items as we have eight children with numerous belongings.
We ask parents to make up their child’s crib on Monday mornings when they come in and on Fridays please take the crib sheet home to be laundered.
On a daily basis we read to your child, sing to him or her, and we do some motor skills with your child. WE are always looking for new ideas, so please feel welcomed to suggest any6 activity you believe the children might enjoy.
